Golfers elbow treatment in Green Park

Golfer's elbow, also known as medial epicondylitis (inner side of your elbow), is nothing but a form of tendonitis in the muscle tendons which attach to the elbow. This causes inflammation and pain in the elbow and forearm. It develops by repeated movements of arm and wrist like, bending twist things, grasp and typing on keyboard.

Conservative Treatments

There are several treatment in physiotherapy:- Ice and rest: 

Avoid the activities which give pain or discomfort to your hand. To decrease inflammation and pain use an ice pack.

 Electrotherapy:- IFT and Ultrasound therapy can help in reducing pain and inflammation.
Stretching Exercises:

  • Wrist Extension Stretch: Hold your arm straight out in front of you with your palm
    down. Use your other hand to gently pull your hand back and up, stretching your wrist. Hold for 15-30 seconds and repeat 3-5 times.
  • Wrist Flexion Stretch: Hold your arm straight out in front of you with your palm up. Use your other hand to gently pull your hand down and forward, stretching your wrist. Hold for 15-30 seconds and repeat 3-5 times.
  • Medial Epicondyle Stretch: Hold your arm straight out to the side at shoulder height, with your palm down. Use your other hand to gently pull your hand toward your body, stretching the inside of your elbow. Hold for 15-30 seconds and repeat 3-5 times.
  • Elbow Flexion Stretch: Hold your arm straight out in front of you with your palm up. Use your other hand to gently pull your hand toward your shoulder, stretching your elbow. Hold for 15-30 seconds and repeat 3-5 times.

* Strengthing exercises:- To gain the muscle strength:-

  • Wrist Extension Strengthening: Hold a light weight (less than 1kg) in your hand with your palm down. Slowly lift your wrist up, keeping your forearm still. Hold for 5 seconds and do 10 repetitions.
  • Wrist Flexion Strengthening: Hold a light weight (less than 1kg) in your hand with your palm up. Slowly lift your wrist down, keeping your forearm still. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 10-15 times.
  • Forearm Rotation: Hold a light weight (less than 1kg) in your hand with your palm down. Rotate your forearm so that your palm faces up. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 10-15 times.
  • Bracing and Orthotics: Using an elbow strap or brace can help reduce strain on
    the affected tendon.
  • Medications: To reduce pain and inflammation.
  • Surgical Treatments:- In severe cases, surgery may be necessary to repair or remove damaged tissue.
